Hello, my name is Patricia, and I need a new computer. I have talked about it several times over the past couple of years, three exactly, but now the S**** has gotten real, as they say.

At first, it was a thought:

I first thought about replacing this computer back in 2018. At that time, it was because Windows 10 had come out, and my computer started out with Windows 8.0 in it. Back then, the only thing I was doing with my computer was social media and watching a few videos on it. No, I take that back. I was doing some business on it because I was an Independent Longaberger Home Consultant at the time, and I was getting started with P. Lynne Designs. I was doing some freelance writing but not a lot to do anything major. I had started out also making greeting cards and scrapbook albums, and…who am I fooling? I was doing a lot of stuff that was bogging down this computer, but I did not have the finances to do a major update. The best thing I could do for the moment is increase the memory size. So, I went from 8 MB, which is small when you are running software like Photoshop or Illustrator, and you want to watch videos, to 16mb, which is the max for any sized Windows-based computer.

I was getting it because if for some reason I had to take it in to be serviced, I could not lift a tower, but if I want to use it for both business and personal, it is a lousy computer overall because there is no room to expand it. I got this computer in 2014, so yeah, it is time for it to go out in the pasture, but even when I get the new computer, I am going to keep it for a while.

Along with this computer, I also have a 2019 HP (Hewit Packard) laptop that I received from my father when he was looking to downgrade and got a Google Chromebook instead. To share files, I have a 16TB external drive. To round out my little family, I have the following Apple products: 2 Ipads (a Mini 2 and a Mini 5) and an Iphone 12 and 13. Lastly, I have Alexa dots all over the home.

So, why do I need a desktop? When you have as many files for your graphic design and writing businesses and…
